Ogier closes in on title
Sebastien Ogier led a Volkswagen 1-2-3 to win the Rally of Germany for the second time yesterday and move within touching distance of a third consecutive world title. Ogier, who began the day with a 33.8-second lead over Jari-Matti Latvala, finished 23.0 seconds ahead of Finnish teammate and 1:56.6 ahead of another Volkswagen driver, Andreas Mikkelsen of Norway. Ogier earlier won the rally while at Citroen in 2011. With four races left, the 31-year-old Frenchman leads the standings with 207 points, ahead of Latvala on 114 and Mikkelsen on 98.
