THE Carolina Panthers have cut long-time quarterback Jake Delhomme, local media reported on Thursday. The Panthers stand to pay out close to US$13 million due to the 35-year-old Delhomme, the Charlotte Observer said. Delhomme threw a career-high 18 interceptions this season for Carolina, which missed the playoffs. He missed the final five games with a broken finger. Delhomme took the Panthers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2003 and two NFC Championship Games.
