Pedrosa captures pole for Czech GP
DANI Pedrosa claimed his first pole position of the season in MotoGP qualifying for the Czech Grand Prix yesterday.
The Spanish Honda rider, who also dominated Friday's practice sessions, covered the 5.403-meter Brno circuit in 1 minute, 56.591 seconds. World champion Jorge Lorenzo of Spain, who won in Brno last year, finished second in 1:56.704 on his Yamaha while championship leader Australian Casey Stoner on a Honda was third in 1:56.860. Stoner, the 2007 champion, leads the standings with 193 points, Lorenzo is 20 points behind. Andrea Dovizioso is third with 143 and Pedrosa (110) fourth.
