Pietersen rebuked for anger over call
THE International Cricket Council has reprimanded Kevin Pietersen for showing disdain at an umpire's decision during England's six-wicket victory over India in a Twenty20 International.
A panel of match referees issued the decision yesterday after Pietersen acknowledged the breach of the ICC's code of conduct during Saturday's match at Kolkata. The offense occurred after Pietersen was given out lbw off India's Suresh Raina. Pietersen returned from injury to hit 53 on Saturday and give England its only tour victory with a six-wicket win against India in its one-off Twenty20 match. India scored 120-9 after choosing to bat at Eden Gardens and England comfortably reached 121-4 in reply with eight deliveries left.
