Pit experience for Chinese F1 fans

FORMULA One fans at the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix can win a rare chance to experience the pits, local organizers said.

F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone will pick 10 ticket holders and invite them to the VIP arena which is just above the pit lane. Out of the 10, two lucky fans will be picked as VVIPs who can then experience the fast and furious pit lanes from up-close, Li Wei, a marketing manager at Juss Event, said yesterday. Li said the idea was suggested by Ecclestone to express the FOA's thanks to Chinese fans. "Shanghai is the first circuit to hold such a promotion," Li said. Meanwhile, the ticket sales for the April 13-15 event were progressing well with the 3,280-yuan (US$521) Platinum and grass (380 yuan) sold out.
