Players drowned

A RESCUE official said 20 members of a local rugby team were swept out to sea off southeastern South Africa, and one man drowned and five are missing. John Fletcher, coordinator for the Coastal Water Rescue Squad, said yesterday his volunteers were able to rescue 15 players near Port Elizabeth on Sunday, but were unable to resuscitate one of the men. The players had been swimming after a beach rugby practice.
