PORTSMOUTH said the second-tier club's bank accounts have been frozen after the British tax authorities moved to recover unpaid tax. The authorities are owed 1.6 million pounds (US$2.5 million) according to the Championship club's administrator, and have asked for a winding up order, which will be heard in court on February 20.
