Prayad triumphs
LOCAL veteran Prayad Marksaeng kept the Thai flag flying high after he fired a final-round 64 for a 24-under total of 264 to win the Thailand Open in Bangkok yesterday. The 47-year-old, who was runner-up here in 2011, trailed overnight leader Lucas Lee of Brazil by three strokes at the start of the day but sank nine birdies against just one bogey to beat Scott Strange of Australia by two strokes. Strange hit a 67 in the final round of the Japan Tour event. Prayad became the first Thai to win the tournament since Boonchu Ruangkit in 2004.
