Reds seal loan deal with Real for Sahin
LIVERPOOL says it has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Turkey midfielder Nuri Sahin on a season-long loan deal.
If Sahin passes a medical and agrees personal terms he will become Liverpool's fourth new signing under manager Brendan Rodgers, joining Joe Allen, Fabio Borini and Oussama Assaidi at the club.
Sahin moved to Real in the 2011 offseason but struggled to win selection ahead of Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira.
Arsenal was reportedly interested in signing Sahin but the deal broke down, apparently over the inclusion of an option to make the move permanent.
The 23-year-old has played 31 internationals for Turkey.
Meanwhile, South Korea international midfielder Ki Sung-yeung left Celtic for Swansea City to become the Welsh club's record signing on Friday.
The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract although he was not available for yesterday's English Premier League clash at home to West Ham United.
He is still waiting for a work permit and international clearance following the move, which was for an undisclosed fee. Media said the figure of around six million pounds (US$9.49 million) was a Swansea record.
Chelsea, meanwhile, completed a swoop for Wigan forward Victor Moses on Friday after the Nigeria international passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the European champion.
Moses was Di Matteo's second signing in just a few hours, following his capture of Marseille's Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta for 7 million pounds.
Also, Manchester City's England winger Adam Johnson and Wolverhampton Wanderers' Scotland striker Steven Fletcher have joined Sunderland on four-year deals, the club said.
