Robinho scores his last for City

BRAZILIAN striker Robinho scored for Manchester City in its 4-2 FA Cup win at Scunthorpe United on Sunday hours after he said he wanted to join Santos.

Robinho, who joined Premier League City for 32 million pounds (US$51.59 million) in 2008, has struggled to make an impact at Eastlands and has been in and out of the side this season. In an interview with Brazilian radio station Bandeirantes, Robinho said City's owners had told him that he was no longer part of the club's plans.

"It would be exceptional to return to Santos," said Robinho who joined City from Real Madrid. "To play at Santos would help me on the way to the World Cup. It is my home, I know everybody."

Robinho, who scored the fourth goal against Scunthorpe and was mobbed by City's visiting fans, had indicated that he could be playing his last game for the club.

"It's what they say. The entire board felt that it is better to loan me," Robinho said, adding that Serie A club Juventus was also interested in signing him.

City manager Roberto Mancini played down Robinho's comments. "I hope he'll stay here," Mancini said. "In the next day the situation can change, but at the moment he stays."

Elsewhere, Ricardo Fuller scored twice to condemn Arsenal to a 1-3 defeat at Stoke City in the fourth round.

Arsenal's defeat meant three of England's big four were out and left Chelsea as clear favorites to retain the old trophy.

Defeat was a bitter pill for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to swallow as the title-chasing Gunners seek their first silverware since the FA Cup in 2005.

Stoke was drawn against Manchester City in the fifth round. Chelsea hosts Cardiff City for a place in the last eight.
