Rope-jumping champs show off their skills to enthusiasts in Shanghai

THE Jump With Elites International Camp for rope-jumping was held in Baoshan District last weekend. The one-week long camp, which was organized by Shanghai Yuedong Rope Jumping Club for the third year in a row, gathered 17 rope-jumping champions from US, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and China.
The champions showed off their skills and shared their experiences with local enthusiasts at the camp. The annual camp aims at promoting rope-jumping among the general public while enhancing the communication between the world’s rope-jumping followers, said Wang Yuanfei, a representative of Yuedong club.
The Shanghai-based club had sent a nine-member Dream Mix team to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the Paralympics in Brazil on the invitations of the organizers as event entertainers. The club offers rope-jumping courses for schools, PE teachers, organizations and individuals around the country.
Over 100 primary and middle schools in Shanghai have introduced rope-jumping as a selective PE course. The champions also visited schools in Baoshan and Chongming districts after the camp to promote the sport among the youngsters.
