Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer yesterday announced his retirement from international football, with teammates expressing shock at the decision of the country’s most-capped player ever. Now the back-up to Petr Cech at Chelsea, Schwarzer played 109 times for Australia. He has made more than 500 English Premier League appearances thus far.
