THE 2016 PDC Shanghai Darts Masters will be held at Pullman Shanghai in Xuhui District on June 25-26, featuring top players from home and abroad, organizers announced yesterday.
Under authorization of Professional Darts Corp, it’s the first time a Chinese city will host a PDC event. According to organizer Madison (Hong Kong) Communication Co, the tournament will be held in Shanghai for at least three years. In its inaugural year, the event will see eight Chinese regional qualifiers and eight foreign competitors, including top-ranked players in the PDC Order of Merit like No. 1-ranked Michael Van Gerwen, No. 2 Gary Anderson, No. 3 Phil Taylor and Peter Wright. They will compete for US$250,000 in total prize money. Competitions, from 5pm to 10pm, will be broadcast by CCTV5+ and PPTV. Ticket prices range from 280 yuan (US$42.52) to 1,880 yuan.
