Singapore, HK pull out of 2019 WCup
SINGAPORE and China's Hong Kong have withdrawn their offer to host matches for the 2019 rugby World Cup, local media reported.
Hong Kong and Singapore were proposed to stage some World Cup matches when Japan was initially named as host for the 2019 tournament. Japan's Kyodo News agency quoted Japan Rugby Football Union President Yoshiro Mori as saying on Tuesday that both Hong Kong and Singapore have informed the JRFU they want no part in co-hosting the World Cup. "Hong Kong and Singapore have told us they are withdrawing. Japan will host the tournament on its own," Mori was quoted as saying.
