South Korea sets new relay mark
SOUTH Korea set a new world record in the men's 5,000-meter relay on the opening day of the short track speedskating World Cup in Shanghai yesterday.
The South Korean team of Noh Jinkyu, Kwak Yoon-gy, Sin Da-woon and Lee Ho-suk bursted out at the start to beat other contenders with a time of six minutes and 35.884 seconds. They lowered the mark of 6:37.877 set by Britain on February 20 in Dresden, Germany. The Chinese team finished second with a time of 6:48.841, followed by Canada with 6:53.491.
