The final of the 2017 Shanghai Square Dancing Competition was held at Hongkou Gymnasium yesterday, featuring a total of 22 teams from all the 16 districts of the city. Organized by the Shanghai Sports Federation, the competition kicked off in June and held 90 preliminary and intermediary rounds, involving 25,769 participants, who represented 1,444 teams. Square dancing is among the top 10 popular sports activities for residents, according to the Shanghai Sports Bureau.
