Tan, Du end up second

JIN Jong-oh of South Korea added the 10-meter air pistol gold medal at the World Cup in Munich on Saturday to the 50m pistol title he won two days ago.

Jin led the eight-man final from start to finish, qualifying with a one-point edge then hitting 101.1 in the final to score 690.3. He was the silver medalist in the 10m at the Beijing Games four years ago, and was the 50m Olympic champion.

Top-ranked Tan Zongliang of China, the winner last week in Milan, totaled 686.9 for the silver, four-tenths of a point ahead of Yusuf Dikec of Turkey.

Also, Ildiko Karmacsi of Hungary won the women's 50m rifle 3 positions, her first World Cup title from her first final.

The previous best result by Karmacsi was 43rd at last year's Munich World Cup.

She qualified with a three-point lead then opened the final with a 10.9, the only perfect score, for 690.3 points overall.

Olympic champion Du Li of China was second with 688.8, and Barbara Engleder of Germany won bronze with 687.7.
