Three for Shanghai
SHANGHAI will have three local teams competing in the Chinese Super League this season after Shanghai Shenxin was reinstated to the top-tier league after eight-time champion Dalian Shide pulled out citing financial problems in a major setback for the Chinese league. Shenxin, which was demoted to the second-tier Chinese League One after finishing 15th in the 16-team-CSL, will now remain in super league. Shanghai's two other teams are Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai East Asia. Shenxin will play its home matches at Yuanshen Stadium in Pudong District. Shenhua plays at Honkou Football Stadium while East Asia, coached by the veteran Xu Genbao, has its base at Shanghai Stadium.
