Toth rails against 'boring' Asian dominance
Hungarian table tennis veteran Krisztina Toth said the dominance of Asian players was damaging the sport and risked being a "boring" spectacle.
"I'm afraid that in the women's singles the last 16 will only be Asian players, this can be a little boring," Toth said. "For table tennis it would be really nice if a non-Asian player could make it through."
"You can always get one or two special results, but to beat so many strong Asian players is tough. We need to learn from other sports and focus on the top players. Tennis is great at this," she said.
