Van Bommel ends his career with red card
VETERAN midfielder Mark van Bommel ended his playing career 20 minutes earlier than planned when he was sent off on the final day of the Dutch league season on Sunday.
The 36-year-old was dismissed for a second yellow card in PSV Eindhoven's 1-3 loss at Twente. "That's it, it's over. It's a shame that it ended with a red card, but it sums up what a difficult season it has been for the team," said the PSV skipper. PSV finished runner-up to Ajax which was champion for a third successive season.
