West Ham’s Carroll injures foot again

West Ham striker Andy Carroll has injured his right foot again on the day he resumed full training with the English Premier League club.

The England international signed a six-year deal worth 15.5 million pounds (US$24 million) this summer after spending last season on loan with the Hammers from Liverpool. Carroll has yet to play a game this season. West Ham did not say how long Carrol will be out, but announced the signing of striker Mladen Petric of Croatia on a one-year deal. Petric, 32, had been without a club since leaving Fulham on a free transfer at the end of last season.
