VfL Wolfsburg will stay in the Bundesliga next season after beating second division Holstein Kiel 1-0 on Monday to win their relegation playoff 4-1 on aggregate. The game lacked the intensity of the first tie in Wolfsburg last week as a 75th-minute Robin Knoche header gave the 2009 Bundesliga champion its second straight relegation playoff success, after it also survived last season. Second division champion Fortuna Duesseldorf and runner-up Nuremberg won automatic promotion.
