Women clinch Tokyo berth

The Chinese women team sealed a spot at the Tokyo Olympics after beating China鈥檚 Hong Kong 33-0 in the final of the Asian Rugby Women鈥檚 7s Qualification in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, yesterday. With eight of the top Asian teams competing for only one ticket to the Tokyo Games next year, China showed its dominance in all five matches. Team China swept Thailand 34-0 in the semifinals, after topping the group by trouncing South Korea 49-0, Hong Kong 42-7 and Sri Lanka 55-0. Rugby Sevens will make its second appearance in the Olympic Games following its introduction at the Rio edition in 2016.
