MARTIN Strnad of the Czech Republic won his first major title at the shooting World Cup Final when he won the rapid fire pistol in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday. Strnad qualified fifth for the six-man final, and stayed alive until winning in the eighth round, when he scored a 4 to Christian Reitz's 2. Reitz, of Germany, was the defending champion. He led qualifying with 589, one better than bronze medalist Zhang Jian of China, who tied his career-best qualifying score.
