Car crash kills ex-NFL ace
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Terry Glenn died on Monday following a car crash in Texas, police confirmed. The 43-year-old, who spent 12 seasons in the National Football League with New England, the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, died after the vehicle he was travelling in hit a concrete barrier, authorities in Irving said. Glenn joined the Patriots after being chosen with the seventh overall pick in the 1996 draft. The receiver spent five years in New England, a spell which included catching Tom Brady鈥檚 first touchdown pass in 2001. 鈥淲e were shocked and deeply saddened by today鈥檚 news that Terry Glenn died in an auto accident,鈥 Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in a statement. 鈥淭erry was one of the most gifted receivers we have ever had. For so many Patriots fans, his rookie season will be remembered as one of the most impactful in franchise history.鈥 Although on the Pats staff in 2001, he did not play in the team鈥檚 Super Bowl win that season after tensions with the coaching staff headed by Bill Belichick.
