Cutler signs for 7 more years

Quarterback Jay Cutler, who missed four games with an ankle injury this season, has re-signed with the Chicago Bears, the National Football League team announced on Thursday.

Cutler’s seven-year deal will take him through the 2020 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. “We’re very excited to have Jay for the long term,” said Bears general manager Phil Emery. “He battled through the tough times and kept fighting.” The Bears re-signed Cutler despite losing their final two games of the season and finished with a 8-8 record. Cutler is 39-28 as the starter for the Bears.
