Jacobs Fined For Throwing Helmet Into Crowd
THE NFL has fined New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs US$10,000 for tossing his helmet into the crowd during Sunday's game at Indianapolis.
Jacobs, who cut a frustrated figure in the Giants' 14-38 loss to the Colts, said he had tried to throw his helmet on the sidelines but it had accidentally landed in the crowd. "I want to apologize one more time for accidentally tossing my helmet in the stands," Jacobs said in a statement on the team's website. "I had no business tossing my helmet in the first place, and I am thankful that nobody was hurt."
