THE New Orleans Saints claimed their first Super Bowl victory with a dramatic and surprise 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts yesterday.
The Saints, who had trailed 10-0 after the first quarter, took the lead in the fourth through a Jeremy Shockey touchdown reception on a two-yard pass from quarterback Drew Brees, then successfully made the two point conversion.
The game was put beyond the Colts reach when their quarterback Peyton Manning's pass was intercepted by Tracy Porter who raced 74 yards for the touchdown.
The Saints were appearing in their first Super Bowl since entering the league in 1967.
