Vikings put on a show in win over the Steelers at Wembley

Back-up quarterback Matt Cassel led the Minnesota Vikings to their first victory of the season on Sunday as they defeated the still winless Pittsburgh Steelers 34-27 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Cassel threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns that will heap further pressure on struggling starter Christian Ponder, who missed the game with a rib injury.

“We’re a good team when we don’t turn the ball over and Matt did a perfect job in that area,” Vikings coach Leslie Frazer said.

Elsewhere, Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes and the Denver Broncos blew out the Philadelphia Eagles 52-20.

At Houston, Steven Hauschka kicked a 45-yard field goal in overtime to give the Seattle Seahawks a 23-20 win over the Texans. The New England Patriots beat the Falcons 30-23 to improve to 4-0. Detroit defeated the Chicago Bears 40-32, and the Chargers held off the Cowboys 31-20.

In other matches, it was: Titans 38, Jets 13; Redskins 24, Raiders 14; Bills 23, Ravens 20; Cardinals 13, Buccaneers 10; Browns 17, Bengals 6; Chiefs 31, Giants 7; and Colts 37, Jaguars 3.
