Adams crushes rivals to set Zurich record
NEW Zealand's Valerie Adams crushed her rivals in the women's shot put at the Diamond League meet in Zurich, Switzerland, on Wednesday.
Adams, the three-time world champion, who became a double Olympic champion after gold medal winner Nadezhda Ostapchuk of Belarus was disqualified for doping, managed a best of 20.81 meters. The distance was a new meet record - the previous best of 20.63m was set by Ostapchuk in 2010.
