Daegu set for sparks from Bolt, Farah

USAIN Bolt is set to light up the world championships in the men's 100 metres final today, while Briton Mo Farah hopes to hand Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele his first defeat at 10,000m and break Africa's dominance over the distance.
While Bolt, who eased through his heat last night, is unlikely to scorch the track like he did in Berlin two years ago, the task of retaining his world title has been made easier in the absence of team mate Asafa Powell and American Tyson Gay.
There will be no shortage of competitive fire in the 10,000, where Farah faces Bekele in a mouth-watering showdown. Olympic and world champion Bekele has not raced since early 2010, after he ruptured a calf muscle and a series of other injuries kept him out of action.
If the Ethiopian wins in Daegu he would become the first runner at any distance to win five consecutive outdoor world titles.
Four other gold medals are up for grabs on the second day of competition in Daegu: the 20km men's racewalk, decathlon, women's discus, and women's long jump.
American sprinter Allyson Felix continues her double gold quest in the semi-finals of the 400, while the three quickest men in the 110m hurdles, Dayron Robles, Liu Xiang and David Oliver, get their campaigns underway.
