Diniz sets 20K walk mark

FRANCE’S Yohann Diniz set a new world record of one hour 17.02 minutes in the 20-kilometer walk at the French national championships in Arles yesterday. Already world record holder in the 50K (3:32.33) since 2014, the 37-year-old Diniz bettered the previous 20K best of 1:17.16 set in September 2007 by Russia’s Vladimir Kanaykin in the Russian city of Saransk.
