RUSSIAN Olympic champion Yelena Isinbayeva extended her own world indoor pole vault record to 5.00 meters in Ukraine on Sunday. Isinbayeva, 36, first cleared 4.97 meters to eclipse the mark of 4.95 she set last year. The IAAF's female athlete of the year then cleared 5m in her second attempt.

Her outdoor record is 5.05m when she won gold at the Beijing Games last year.
