Liu among 157 athletes honored

HURDLER Liu Xiang was among 157 athletes honored by China's top sports body at its annual meeting.
China's General Administration of Sports gave out awards to athletes in 25 sports yesterday. Liu, 25, the Athens Olympic champion, limped off the track at the Beijing Olympic Games in August. He underwent surgery last month to remove four small pieces of bone from his right Achilles' tendon. Liu's coach Sun Haiping was among 128 coaches who also received awards.
