Liu confident of a medal in London
CHINA'S former Olympic champion hurdler Liu Xiang is confident he can get back to top form and win a medal at the 2012 London Olympics despite his injury problems.
The former 110m hurdles world champion finished seventh at last week's world indoor championships in Doha, his first major international race since an Achilles injury caused him to limp out of his first heat at the 2008 Beijing Games. "I am confident about a podium at London Olympics but it would be great just to get to the final," he wrote in his blog liuxiang.qzone.qq.com. Liu said Cuban Dayron Robles, the Beijing Games gold medallist and current world record holder, was always going to be the favorite for gold in London. "Robles is awesome. He is excellent in all aspects," he said.
