Tamgho surgery

France’s world triple jump champion Teddy Tamgho has undergone surgery after fracturing his shin during training, the French Athletics Federation announced yesterday. The 24-year-old underwent the operation in Paris a day after hearing a crack in his left leg landing a jump in training. “The surgery, which involved nailing with bone graft reinforcement, was carried out in the night and went well,” the FFA said in a statement. The winter season is now over for Tamgho who had planned to take part in the world indoor championships in Sopot next March. Tamgho skipped the entire indoor season this year to concentrate on the worlds in Moscow, having had to sit out competition for 20 months.
