Tian hit with 2-year ban
CHINESE long distance runner Tian Mengxu has been banned for two years after testing positive for banned substances, the Chinese Athletics Association said yesterday.
Tian, who won the men's 10,000m title at the National Games in 2009, failed an out-of-competition drug test conducted on April 13 last year, the CAA said in a statement. But the CAA did not reveal what illegal substances had been found in Tian's urine sample. The 22-year-old runner was also fined 20,000 yuan, while his coach Jiu Shangxuan was also given a two-year ban and a fine as well. - Xinhua
