Axelsen to play Chen in final

VIKTOR Axelsen upset his Danish rival Jan O Jorgensen to reach the final of the Australian Open in Sydney yesterday.
The ninth-ranked Axelsen prevailed 21-15, 21-17 over the world No. 3 Jorgensen to reach his second Superseries final of the year after the India Open two months ago. Axelsen will face world No. 1 Chen Long in today’s final. Chen beat 10th-ranked Tian Houwei in an all-Chinese semifinal, 21-14, 21-19. Spain’s world No. 3 Carolina Marin will play Chinese world No. 6 Wang Shixian in the women’s singles final.
