THE Badminton World Federation got a major shot in the arm after it secured a massive sponsorship deal with energy giant Total until 2018. The French company said in a statement that “almost 80 percent of the Olympic badminton medalists hail from Asia Pacific, a region where Total is committed to grow our presence.” The deal will see the energy giant assume title sponsorship for the World Championships in Jakarta, Thomas & Uber Cup finals and the Sudirman Cup, starting this year.
