Defending champion Chen Long advanced into the second round of the Badminton Asia Championships with a comfortable 21-8, 21-8 win over Bahaedeen-Ahmad Alshannik of Jordan in Wuhan yesterday.
鈥淚t was my first game of the tournament. More or less, I was a little nervous,鈥 the third seed said after the 33-minute tie. Another home player, the newly crowned All-England winner Shi Yuqi also went through after his rival Lee Dong-keun of South Korea withdrew while trailing 3-21, 2-6.
