Chen upsets world No. 1 Lee for Danish crown
China's Chen Long upset world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia 21-15, 21-18 to win the men's title at the Denmark Open in Copenhagen on Sunday. Chen's title was China's third in the event as it had already bagged the women's singles and women's doubles.
Chen, who beat Lee in the Japan Open finals last month, went to break with a score 11-9 in the first set, and with counter strokes that seemed to surprise Lee, extended his lead to 17-12, and finishing the set 21-15.
The women's singles and doubles final were both all-Chinese showdown. Wang Xin beat Wang Yihan 21-14, 23-21 while world champions Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang defeated Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei 22-20, 21-16.
