World's best breaks ranks
LIN Dan broke ranks with the Chinese badminton team yesterday, saying the tactics employed by the women's doubles pairs were not in the Olympic spirit.
But Lin, the men's singles world No. 1, also criticized the Badminton World Federation for instituting a group system ripe for manipulation.
The players from China, South Korea and Indonesia all tried to manipulate the format by deliberately losing to ensure their choice of opponents in future rounds.
"If they just had a knockout round it would all be fine," Lin said.
