COCO Crisp belted a three-run home run in the 10th inning to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 6-4 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday, a loss that dropped the Yankees out of first place in their division.

Mark Teixeira's solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning tied the score before Crisp belted a first-pitch slider from relief pitcher Rafael Soriano over the right field fence to score Cliff Pennington and Scott Sizemore.

"He threw a slider previously, first pitch, and I went up there and said, 'OK, slider,' and he threw it and I caught the barrel," said Crisp. "It's not something that I should do, because I'm not successful. I'm not sure when I've been successful doing that, aside from tonight."

Nick Swisher also hit two solo home runs for the Yankees, one in the sixth inning to give New York a 2-1 lead and another in the 10th inning.

Rafael Soriano pitched the 10th inning for New York and took the loss.

"Today wasn't my day. I left a couple of pitches up," said Soriano who hasn't pitched in a game in a week.

"I feel good. This is the first time I haven't pitched in a week, but I tried to do my best."
