Darvish heads to Cubs

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms on a 6-year contract worth at least US$126 million with free-agent pitcher Yu Darvish, US media reported on Saturday. The Chicago Tribune, citing an unnamed source, said the Cubs would be able to announce the deal after the 31-yer-old right-hander from Japan passes a physical. Darvish posted a 3.86 ERA in 31 starts with the Rangers and Dodgers last season. MLB Network reported Darvish, who missed all of the 2015 season because of Tommy John elbow surgery, received another 6-year offer from the Dodgers and 5-year offers from the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers.
