Korean scandal

THE head of South Korea's top professional baseball league has resigned amid an investigation into corruption charges.

Korea Baseball Organization Commissioner You Young-koo handed in his resignation earlier this week just before his arrest on Tuesday, according to league officials. The league will convene an emergency meeting with the eight teams on the subject of electing a replacement for the 64-year-old You, who had been commissioner since 2009.
