Volquez out for season

MIAMI’S Edinson Volquez, who pitched the only no-hitter so far this season, will miss the rest of the Marlins’ Major League Baseball campaign with a knee injury, manager Don Mattingly said on Tuesday. “Not good at all,” Mattingly said of the latest medical opinion on Volquez’s injured left knee, which might require surgery. “He’s definitely out.” The Marlins inked a two-year deal with Volquez before the season. He is 4-8 with a 4.19 earned run average in 17 starts. Volquez hurled the sixth no-hitter in Marlins history on June 3.
