Wang for Nats
CHINESE Taipei pitcher Wang Chien-ming has agreed a contract with the Washington Nationals, Major League Baseball reported on its Website on Tuesday. Terms of the agreement with the former New York Yankees player were not disclosed. The Nationals are expected to officially announce the signing at a news conference in Florida tomorrow, said the Website.
Wang, who will turn 30 in March, became a free agent after the Yankees declined to offer him a 2010 contract. Once a standout pitcher, the right-hander was limited by injuries to a total of 27 games in the past two seasons.
