Bulls land Miller, Salmons in multi-player trade

THE Chicago Bulls have signed 7-footer Brad Miller and forward John Salmons in a multi-player trade with the Sacramento Kings, the team said today.

The Kings in return received Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Michael Ruffin, who was promptly sent to the Portland Trail Blazers for forward Ike Diogu.

Miller and Salmons should bring added scoring and versatility to a young Bulls team led by rookie point guard Derrick Rose.

A 10-year veteran, Miller is averaging 11.9 points and eight rebounds per game while Salmons is scoring a career-best 18.3 points a game.

"(Miller) is a skilled big man who we feel will fit into many of the things that we run offensively," said Bulls general manager John Paxson.

"(Salmons) will bring us tremendous versatility in the backcourt, and at the small forward position."
