Buzzer beater lifts Warriors over Hawks

Andre Iguodala hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and David Lee scored 23 points as the Golden State Warriors extended the NBA’s longest winning streak to eight games with a 101-100 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Stephen Curry added 22 points with nine assists and Klay Thompson 21 for Golden State, which recovered from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to get back in the game and extend its road winning streak to five straight.

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers lost point guard Chris Paul with a separated right shoulder but hung on to beat the Dallas Mavericks 119-112, the Denver Nuggets stopped an eight-game losing streak with a 111-108 win over the Memphis Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors won their fifth straight game by pounding the Washington Wizards 101-88.

Paul was tripped by Mavericks guard Monta Ellis while dribbling around a screen in the third quarter. The team said he would be out for three to five weeks.

DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin combined for 10 points on a 16-2 game-closing run to wipe out a seven-point deficit in the final 4 minutes. Both players finished with 25 points. Jordan had 18 rebounds, while Griffin added 15.

Dirk Nowitzki was a game-time decision with a sprained left ankle but hit six of his first seven shots and had 14 points at halftime on his way to 24 for the Mavericks.

Denver’s Ty Lawson scored 18 points, including a key 3-pointer with less than a minute to play, to help the Nuggets end their season-high losing streak.

Lawson also had 12 assists for the Nuggets, while Kenneth Faried and Timofey Mozgov added 16 points apiece.

The Atlantic Division-leading Raptors improved to 16-15, the first time since 2010 their winning percentage has been above .500 at least 30 games into a season.

DeMar DeRozan scored 20 points and Kyle Lowry outplayed John Wall with 19 points and 11 assists for Toronto.

In other games, it was: Lakers 110, Jazz 99; Pelicans 95, Celtics 92; and Rockets 102, Knicks 100.
