CBA League Co boss quits

The Chinese Basketball Association League Sports Company announced yesterday that its board has approved the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Wang Dawei 鈥渇or personal reasons,鈥 with president Yao Ming set to take charge of operation of the corporation. In a statement, the CBA League Sports Co said that it received Wang鈥檚 resignation letter on Saturday. Following a special meeting of board members yesterday, the board approved his resignation. Prior to joining the CBA League Sports Co in May 2019, Wang had been the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for NBA China for 10-plus years. The CBA, which resumed action on June 20 after the coronavirus outbreak, is in the second stage of the 2019/20 regular season.
